Thrive Gym Rawtenstall has been officially opened by the Mayor of Rossendale and hailed a great addition to health and fitness in the Valley.
Mayor Jackie Oakes and Mayoress Christine Lamb were delighted to cut the ceremonial ribbon at Orient One and declare the Community venue officially open.
The pair enjoyed a VIP tour of the new facility and even tested some of the state-of-the-art equipment installed for members.
Thrive Gym Rawtenstall opened its doors on January 20th with a soft launch after a mammoth transformation of the former supermarket site.
The new health and fitness facility has created more than 20 jobs for local people with more employment opportunities to follow.
Cllr Oakes, Mayor of Rossendale, said: “I remember coming to this site when it was the former Kwik Save and it is quite a transformation!
“It’s great to see what the team has created. The owners should be commended on their work and thanked for their investment.
“It creates employment opportunities and is a great additional health and fitness venue for the people of Rossendale.”
No expense has been spared or detail overlooked in creating the five-star health and fitness facility for the Rossendale community.
Thrive Gym Rawtenstall has partnered with US giants Freemotion to become the UK’s first commercial gym to offer its stunning range of fitness equipment .
The Freemotion range includes incline trainers, treadmills, ellipticals and indoor bikes all powered by iFIT allowing members to maximise results whilst making fitness fun.
It means members can train literally anywhere in the world from the comfort of the Thrive facility.
Thrive Gym members have a huge range of free weights and plate loaded weight systems for members.
Exigo strength training rigs with battle ropes, sledge runways and punch bags provide the perfect setting for HIIT and Personal Training sessions.
Whilst three stunning air conditioned studios have been created on a mezzanine floor to house Pilates, Yoga and Spin studios..
Cllr Oakes, Mayor of Rossendale, said: “It is very impressive and I was honoured to be invited to officially open Thrive Gym Rawtenstall.
“It was great to tour the facility and see first hand the work that has gone into creating this amazing place.
“The additions of the healthy eating cafe, the barbers, a beauty salon and the training and sports injury centre which will follow will really enhance the development.”
Thrive Gym Rawtenstall will launch their dedicated stand alone boxing inspired fitness studio franchise, Carousel Boxing later this month.
Boxing themed exercises classes will be available for members in the studio which even boasts a full competition sized boxing ring.
Thrive Gym Rawtenstall will also launch a Solarium, Training and Sports Injury Centre in the coming months to complement the healthy eating cafe and barbers.
Anyone who would like to have a look is welcome to attend an Open Weekend on Friday 25th, Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th February.
Non-members can come and trial the gym for free at any point over the open weekend whilst members can bring friends, family or colleagues to try the club.
During the weekend Thrive Gym will host additional activities including beginners boxing sessions, PT small group taster sessions, free coffee and snacks.
