Thrive Gym Rawtenstall is ready for its New Years Launch – but the surge in Christmas Covid cases has forced a delay.
It’s not the way the team wanted to start 2022, but it has proved impossible to outrun the current Omicron crisis which has surged across the Valley and the rest of the UK.
Our team have worked around the clock to meet the January 4th deadline but the virus has outflanked our efforts, affecting our workforce and causing timely delays to our supply chain.
Rossendale has witnessed a 90.5% increase in confirmed Coronavirus cases during the seven days between Christmas Eve and December 30th, 2021, according to figures released by the UK Health Security Agency yesterday.
Testing rose 5.3% on the previous week with 3,224 reported tests taken over the seven days to December 29, 2021 and 25 patients requiring hospital treatment.
As a result, Thrive Gym Rawtenstall will now open its doors on January 20th – and will reward new members with an additional seven days free in addition to the first free month membership.
That means no payments, other than the £9.99 joining fee, will be taken until February 28, 2022 – and the First Month Free Pre-Joining offer will be extended.
“It is hugely frustrating and we have tried everything we can but the surge in cases has made it impossible for us,” explained a spokesperson for Thrive Gym.
“This whole year has been a struggle for everyone but at least our new members have something to look forward to for the New Year and, I promise, it will be worth the wait.
“The new Thrive Gym Rawtenstall will provide members with a stunning place to train and relax and we can’t wait to show you our work.
“The equipment is all here and looks amazing, the changing rooms and saunas ready to greet guests but we do have a few finishing touches to complete ahead of the grand opening.
“The great news is, that despite the rise in positive tests, there appears to be fewer people falling ill and so we can only hope things get back to normal in the near future.
“We have some exciting plans for the New Year and some terrific local link-ups and initiatives which will help our community and we will release further details on these next week.
Extra Week Free
“Our team are onsite and raring to go and we know, from your feedback, our new members are desperate to see the new gym.
“As a thank you for your support we will be offering all our new members an extra week’s membership free and we look forward to welcoming you in the New Year.”
Thrive Gym Rawtenstall will open its doors on at 08:00 on Thursday January 20th and then, as normal the following day from 06:00-to-22:00 on weekdays.
The first group exercise sessions will begin on Monday January 24th with a 06:15 Spin class in our stunning Spin Studio followed by a 07:00 HIIT Circuit in the Main Studio.
Seven further classes will be held that day as we hit the ground running (see below for class timetable) with a variety of classes including Yoga, Pilates, Strength Circuits, Body Combat, Body Attack and much, much more.
Our incredible range of Freemotion cardiovascular and cable strength-training machines are installed and ready for members to train ‘virtually’ anywhere in the world.
They provide on-demand fitness from iFIT, a global community of more than six million members in more than 120 countries, with trainers ready to cycle, run or walk with members in a variety of stunning locations.
“The Freemotion machines powered by iFIT are truly stunning and our team will be on hand to help members get the most from the machines,” the Thrive Gym spokesperson, added.
“Members work with an online trainer who will automatically adjust the speed or height of treadmills or bike to adjust to their training program and / or the terrain.
“The variety of destinations members can train is incredible, what better on a rainy Tuesday night in Rawtenstall than to jog along a beach in the USA or some other exotic location.
“Our team are in place and we have some incredible trainers to guide members through our group exercise classes, we can’t wait to get started.”
The initial group exercise timetable is published below but it will evolve based on member feedback in the first six weeks.
Temporary secure lockers have been installed to ensure Thrive Gym is ready to open ahead of the installation of our modern changing room lockers which have been hit by supply chain issues and are delayed by approximately four weeks.
Christian Bolton has joined our team, having swapped the sea and sunshine in Sydney, Australia, to take up the reins as Thrive Gym Rawtenstall General Manager.
He said: “The gym is looking great and I’m so excited to see it finished as I’m sure our members are too. I really believe they will be quite amazed by the quality and design of the club, and I can’t wait to see their reactions when they step through the door.”
“I’d personally also like to thank all of you for your patience with our slight delay in opening and hope we see several of you over the next week or two to see the progress.”
“Also could I please wish our members and everyone I have had the pleasure to meet in the local community in the recent weeks a Happy New Year. We can’t wait to see you all!”
If you have any questions, please drop in and ask for Christian or send him an email at firstname.lastname@example.org
It will include the very latest on-demand cardio machines from personalised Exigo weight stations, a healthy eating cafe, Pilates, Yoga and Spin Studios and much, much more.
